12 & Under State Championships

    The Shorewood Swim Club had a successful 12 & Under State Meet at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer the weekend of July 25-27th.  17 swimmers combined to score 408 points to finish in 8th place in the Division 1 class.  All four age-groups (10&U & 11-12  boys & girls) were represented in the team scoring both individually and in relays.  Individual highlights include Kristin Malone, who finished 2nd overall in the 11-12 individual high point scoring totaling 122 points.  She improved her time and medaled in all seven of her individual events taking home 2 gold medals (50 back & free), 2 silver medals (50 breast & 100 free) and 3 bronze medals (100 back, 100 & 200 breast).  Rachel Munson (10&U girls) racked up two medals by earning the silver (50 breast) and 5th place (100 breast).  Kirill Korolev (11-12 boys) added to his medal count by finishing 7th in the 800 freestyle and placed 15th in the 400 free.  Tommy Chamberlain (10&U boys) took home three ribbons by finishing in 14th place in the 50 back & breast and 16th place in the 100 breast.  Devon Brusnahan (11-12 boys) contributed to the team scoring by placing 11th and 14th in the 200 & 100 backstrokes.  Rounding out the individual scoring was Melissa Clausen (11-12 girls) with her 16th place finish in the 50 back.  Swimmers qualifying individually included were Mallory Fox & Alex Knitter (10&U girls), Lindsey Morris & Lucy Petrick (11-12 girls).  Relay team members include Katie Love (10&U girls), Alex Borut, Henri Carginan & Michael Perry (10&U boys) and Suhith Bayana, Jack Knutson & Curt Walther (11-12 boys).
